Our sincere apologies to our ardent readers. We are sad and feel sorry to announce that we are discontinuing the category: copy a-c-t-s on the Brand Radio blog.
Renowed Nigerian Graphic artist and illustrator DAPO Adesugba (a.k.a Collyde Prime) whose work had been featured on CNN and some notable brands in Nigeria shared this cartoon titled “fart director” on Facebook saying the idea came from a brainstorming session after some clients rejected their brand idea and strategy; he decided to pour out his mind in the emotional cartoon strip above.
Just last week Volkswagen released this print ad to promote their keyless entry automobiles and we celebrated this ad knowing fully well the predicaments the brand has been facing since the #dieselgate scandal last year.
We feel it wouldn’t be fair to let our readers know that the print ad isn’t original after sharing a plagiarized ad by German beer maker bergededorf on the brand radio blog late last week.
Creativity takes a lot of courage, and we at the brand radio feel passion for whatever marketing predicaments or travails creatives and brands face in the marketing dungeons. We still love Volkswagen and every other brand that had been caught in this category on the brand radio blog or anywhere else and much love goes out from us to every single creative out there staying up every night to create.
This may be the last post about unlucky advertising coincidences you’ll see on THEBRAND radio blog.
Let’s celebrate creativity!
If you troll the web like us you will know its a tougher job for us too as a writer and ad observer to see and not write about.
We just hope all our readers will understand and bare with us on this inevitable decision.
