It’s what’s now known in the business as ‘doing a Disick’.
We’re not naive. We totally get that celebrities often endorse products on their social media accounts in exchange for the odd freebie. But, we don’t know why some of them have to be so blatant about it.
And why they can’t even compose their own sponsored posts.
Last month, Scott Disick totally messed up a promotional tweet for Bootea protein shake when he accidentally copied and pasted a message from the PR company, which not only told him what to say about product but when to say it.
And now it’s Naomi Campbell’s turn to get a little bit lazy with the copy + paste function.
Last friday, she shared a sponsored Instagram post on her page, which revealed just how she managed to blag those new box-fresh Adidas 350 SPZL.
Although she quickly updated the post, someone helpfully managed to screengrab the original.
Naomi, so nice to see you in good spirits!!! Could you put something like: Thanks to my friend @gary.aspden and all at adidas – loving these adidas 350 SPZL from the adidas Spezial range. @adidasoriginals
She revised the mistake pretty quickly and the post now looks like this:
Nice to see her improvising with her own hashtag there.
But, seriously, famous people, she had one job; this was supposed to be easy money.
Maybe they should just leave it to the professionals?
