[GADGETS & GIZMOS] #VR: THIS ALIENWARE VR BACKPACK IS TOTALLY INSANE.

Every tech company knows that Virtual Reality is the future but all have their own ideas to implement it for their buyers. HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are powered by our own computers and hence they tend to be more powerful and feature rich due to the resources they have access to. While Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard/Daydream are powered by our smartphones which makes them a lot less powerful than Vive or Rift.

Alienware, which is a powerful brand in gaming computers, has come out with an idea of powering its VR through a backpack. Companies like HP and MSI have tried their hands at VR backpacks which are basically wearable computers that could be used to power devices like the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. But Alienware looks to take the VR experience to a whole new level with its backpacks.

The Dell-owned gaming PC maker wasn’t exactly parading its backpack VR device at E3 2016 but still managed to catch a lot of attention. According to Alienware, they have been working with the likes of AMD to create the back VR but ventilation remains the biggest problem. Alienware VR is a bag strapped to your back, meaning that the heat has to go somewhere, and the idea of a sweaty back isn’t particularly appealing.

Alienware also clarified that the VR backpack was just a prototype and the company isnt planning on releasing it for buyers as of yet.
