Voluntary Service Overseas-VSO, a company (limited by guarantee) registered in Wales England is a once-in-a-lifetime charitable service organisation giving opportunities to volunteers between the ages of 18-25 year old interested in development projects in Africa, Asia or Latin America.

The program which brings young people together to fight poverty commenced about two (2) weeks ago at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation camp in Sagamu Ogun State and ended successfully last friday and volunteers were despatched saturday. The event had volunteers from UK, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. VSO leads ICS, in partnership with other respected development organisations (Balloon Ventures, Challenges Worldwide, International Service, Pravah, Progressio, Raleigh International, Restless Development, Skillshare International, Tearfund and Y Care International). This combined expertise means thousands of volunteers make a real difference in more than 60 countries every year.
Projects are designed to have a lasting impact, both on local communities and on individual volunteers. You’ll challenge yourself, experience another culture and develop transferrable skills to bring back with you.

ICS (international citizens service) is funded by the UK government. Volunteers don’t need cash, skills or qualifications to take part in VSO ICS – just the ambition to make a difference.

“ICS is a great way to be able to volunteer abroad at little or no cost to you and what you get from the experience is worth more than anything money can buy.” – Emeline Muhawenimana, VSO ICS volunteer.

VSO currently sends ICS volunteers to Bangladesh, Cambodia, Nepal, the Philippines, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
