FOX International Channels (FIC) is bringing the next chapter of The X-Files to 60+ countries with a day and date release. The six-episode event series, starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, will air on FIC’s FOX channel immediately following the debut on Sunday, 24 January on FOX in the United States.

It will air locally on DStv channel 125 and StatSat channel 131 on Monday, 25 January and Tuesday, 26 January at 20:10 CAT, express from the U.S. and thereafter on Tuesdays at 20:10 from 2 February.
The series will return as part of a two-night special event across the international FOX portfolio starting on Sunday, 25 January, and will reach audiences throughout Latin America in markets such as Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina; in South East Asia including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia; and markets in Europe including Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Southern Africa.
The day and date TV launch model is a staple of the FOX programming strategy for its viral, high-profile US series, including The Walking Dead, Wayward Pines, Scream Queens, Empire , and the upcoming Outcast, which FIC’s in-house studio FOX International Studios developed with Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) for Cinemax in the US and FOX channels internationally. FOX is available as a linear channel and non-linear offering in over 340-million homes across the US and virtually all international TV markets.
The X-Files , an Emmy – and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history, returns thirteen years after the original series. Having originally premiered in September 1993, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show earned 16 Emmy Awards , five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award .
